There is no doubt that Islam is a religion of moderation, between tolerance and ease. It calls for the removal of hardship and difficulty, and rejects extremism, negligence, and violence, The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, warned gainst extremism, fanaticism, and terrorism, and forbade extremism and fanaticism in religion.
Uncovering the roots of extremism, fanaticism, violence and terrorism and knowing their causes is the topic of the hour. In our view, it is one of the most dangerous and influential topics and the most worthy of study and research. This is because Muslims today, as they face the problems of civilization, the challenges of the age and the battle for survival, do not face all of this with one approach as other nations do. Rather, there are approaches that prevent deviation from the ideal approach, the true approach that the Lord of the Worlds has chosen for us.
Fair-minded scholars and intellectuals agree that the Islamic religion opposes religious extremism, terrorism, fanaticism, intolerance, and takfiri ideas. It respects cultural, religious, and civilizational pluralism, and rejects racism. Since the dawn of its call in the era of the Prophet, Islam has been distinguished by moderation, tolerance, and ease, and by avoiding hardship and difficulty, whether in belief, worship, morals, dealings, or social and human relations. It is the religion of tolerant monotheism.
