Al-Muthanna Journal for Legal and Political Sciences is strictly committed to upholding academic integrity and research ethics. Combating plagiarism is a core part of the journal’s policies to ensure the quality and originality of published research.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors bear full responsibility for the originality of their submitted work. Prior to submission, the following requirements must be met:
-
The manuscript must be original and must not have been previously published, in whole or in part.
-
Proper scholarly referencing must be observed, and all sources and references used must be duly cited.
-
Necessary permissions must be obtained for the use of any materials protected by copyright.
Screening Procedure
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to plagiarism screening using Turnitin or other equivalent approved tools.
Acceptable Similarity Rate
The acceptable similarity (plagiarism) rate must not exceed 20%, provided that this percentage does not include substantial copying from a single source, or any similarity that affects the originality and scholarly content of the manuscript.
Actions in Cases of Plagiarism
-
If the similarity rate exceeds the permitted limit, or if unacceptable plagiarism is detected, the author will be notified of the screening results and given the opportunity to provide an explanation and/or make the necessary revisions.
-
The editorial board reviews plagiarism reports and any submitted explanations, and makes the appropriate decision, which may include rejecting the manuscript, requesting major revisions, or taking other measures in accordance with the journal’s policies.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
AI tools are not considered authors and must not be listed as researchers/co-authors. The author(s) remain fully responsible for the submitted content, its originality, and its accuracy. Any use of AI tools must be disclosed at the time of submission; failure to disclose such use is considered a breach of research integrity.
