The editorial board of the Al-Muthanna Journal of Legal and Political Sciences is pleased to present to readers and researchers the special issue of the proceedings of the Fifth International Conference of the College of Law, Al-Muthanna University, entitled "Legal Confrontation of Violent Extremism," held on April 14-15, 2025.
This issue is the culmination of the success of the conference, which addressed one of the most important and dangerous phenomena facing societies today, particularly Iraqi society.
The editorial board was keen to reflect the legal and political perspectives, as well as the social and historical perspectives presented at this conference, in this issue of the journal by publishing solid academic research and studies from inside and outside Iraq, as well as from various universities and ministries in our beloved country.
We seek this issue to be an important resource for raising legal awareness to combat the phenomenon of violent extremism, and for it to be an important resource for the relevant authorities, foremost among them the legislative authority in our country, represented by the Council of Representatives, to enact the necessary legislation to combat the phenomenon.
